My Story

I started making these designs out of my own desire for high fashion earrings which would be nickel-free, and comfortable to wear. I initially started with the making of aluminum earrings. My goal is to make earrings that are so lightweight that you are barely aware of having them on and yet make a big, bold impact with sculptural designs. Aluminum is a beautiful lightweight material that gives a very fluid and reflective look. I named my jewelry line "PookaDesign" in reference to a term of endearment, "Pooka" for my daughter, my little magical moon girl. Throughout her childhood, we spent many weekend afternoons thinking up creative projects and creating art. Those joyous and warm afternoons brainstorming and creating are remembered with great fondness. Every original piece of jewelry from "Pooka Design" is made with love in the spirit of those special afternoons. Enjoy!

Original contemporary designs. Handcrafted in Maine. PookaDesign earrings are always hypoallergenic with nickel-free. I also work in bronze, brass, copper, and Argentium silver. All designs are unique and made only by me. I strive to create new and affordable jewelry.
